What our data reveals

Beyond the headline counts, patterns across 25 lakh+ journeys point to where Indian students win — and where they lose money:

  • Scholarships are the most under-used lever. Most students apply to only two or three; those who apply to 10–20 they actually qualify for win materially more funding.
  • Outcomes are predictable. Acceptance and visa results correlate strongly with a handful of profile factors — which means they can be estimated before you spend on applications.
  • ROI varies enormously by course and country. The cheapest destination is rarely the best return; the smart question is net return, not sticker price.
  • Currency is a silent cost. The rupee's slide toward ₹85/USD has added 20%+ to the effective cost of a foreign degree since 2021.

The 2026 outlook

With spend heading toward USD 70 billion, competition for seats, scholarships and visas is only intensifying. The students who do best are moving from guesswork to evidence — using data to choose destinations, quantify their odds, and plan finances before they commit.
